23-8 is a 2001 Ford Expedition and serves as our Incident Command vehicle. The designated duty officer uses the vehicle to respond to incidents and coordinated all activities from it. The vehicle is equipped with multiple radios, maps and preplans for Media Borough, has water distribution maps to verify adequate water sources and has an extensive library for looking up information on chemicals. In addition it can be used as a quick response vehicle if our two ambulances are committed on others calls. As with all of our other vehicles, 23-8 has a Basic Life Support bag, oxygen equipment and an Automatic External Defibrillator. Media Fire Company was one of the first companies to equip each of its vehicles with all of this equipment back in 1994.
